Hi! I'm your founder Lilia, my friends call me Lil, and here's my story.

In high school, I spent two years studying nonstop because I wanted to get into one of the top business schools in Canada. When acceptance season came, all my friends were celebrating getting into their dream programs. I opened my letter… and I read my rejection letter.

Rejection became my redirection. I enrolled in the Arts program in my first year at university and spent the entire year working to transfer into the business program. Decision time came, and once again, rejected. Three years of pushing, hoping, trying - and still not enough. But I’ve always believed that if you want something badly enough, you can make it happen.

Third time’s the charm, right?

So, in my second year, I enrolled at small college and took every required course there was. July rolled around, and I was staring at my laptop and there it was, the email. I immediately FaceTimed my two best friends, hands literally shaking. I opened the email, and finally, after four years, I got in to the program. I was finally accepted.

That feeling? It was everything. It wasn’t just pride, it was a deep, soul-anchoring sense of I really did that. It wasn’t even about the program anymore, it was about proving that I was more than a rejection. That I was able to rise above and get what needs to be done. Since that moment, I’ve been chasing that same feeling: the mix of accomplishment, acceptance, and purpose.

And today, as I write this, I get to feel it again.

Introducing, Yours Truly - my own trench coat brand.

I was never the best at school (clearly), but I’ve always been good at making people feel something. Connecting. Creating. So I built something of my own, something timeless, something bold, something me. We don’t just make coats, we make confidence pieces, for rainy walks, coffee dates, and everything in between.

Yours Truly,
Lilia
